Queen Maxine Hayhurst, Princesses Joanne Ervine, and Carolyn Legg, Chelan princess Barbara Pitts, Lakeside Princess Carolyn Robinson, Chelan Falls Princess, Ginger Ferguson, Beebe Princess June Henderson presided over the festival. The Manson Royalty was escorted by Dean Armbruster, Jack Ward, and Harrison Killian.  The Crown Bearer was Freddie Hunt, Scepter Bearer as Judy McClellan, Train Bearers were Janice Collins and Patty Lowther, Flower Girls were Kathy Wiker and Doreen Kaylor and the Trumpeters were Rodney McFadden and Terry Lesmeister.  The Queen was selected by the student body (40 points) and the Apple Blossom committee members (60 points).  The parade began at 10 a.m., followed by the Chicken Noodle Dinner at 11 a.m. at the Community Hall and Grange Hall.  The afternoon coronation began with a band concert after which Queen Maxine was crowned by Representative Eva Anderson.  The annual baseball game at Wapato Point started at 3 p.m.  The evening program began at 7 p.m. and ended with two different dances at 9 p.m., a folk dance at the Grange Hall or the Queen’s Ball at the Community Hall.

1951

This year’s theme was “Homecoming”.  Queen Carolyn Stilley, Princesses Beulah Pitts, and Carolyn Sorenson presided over the festival.  Escorts were Ernie Senseney, Fred Hayter, and Fate Hand. The Crown Bearer was Norene Warehouse, Scepter Bearer was Cheri Molke, Train Bearers were Janice Collins and Patty Lowther, Flower Girls were Suzanne Woods, Karen Sorenson, Levina Debar, Dina and Gail Peterson and the Trumpeter was Rodney Ward.  Mrs. Edna Bennett made this year’s crowns and it was the first year that the princesses wore crowns.  The parade this year began at 10:30 a.m. Following the parade the Annual Chicken Noodle Dinner was served at both the Grange Hall and the Community Hall.  Due to rain, the baseball game was canceled but that didn’t stop the evening dinner at the Grange Hall or the Evening Operetta “The Frog Prince”.  Once again, the festival activities ended with the Grand March and Queen’s Ball at the Community Hall and a Folk Dance at the Grange Hall.

Queen Leola Bennett, Princesses Marilynn Gustin, and Betty Hayhurst, Chelan Princess Faye Scott, Lakeside Princess Jeanette Beckman, Chelan Falls Princess Susie Moors presided over the festival.  The Crown Bearer was Melvin Bennett, Scepter Bearer was Michael Waite, Train Bearers were Linda Burns and Robin Williams and the Flower Girls were Merrie Ward and Adrienne Morehead. The parade once again began at 10 a.m. followed by the annual Chicken Noodle Dinner at the Community Hall and Grange Hall.  At the afternoon coronation, Queen Leola was crowed by W.A. Galbraith, the State Director of Conservation and Development.   This was the last coronation to be held at the Community Hall. The annual baseball game was held at the School Athletic Field this year. The evening activities began with a dinner at the Grange Hall, followed by the evening program and ending with the Grand March and Queen’s Ball at the Community Hall.

The theme this year was “Pioneer Days”.  Queen Earlene Smith, Princesses Mae Petersen and Sylva Thunhurst, Chelan Princess Sharon Jones, and Lakeside Princess presided over the festival. Escorts were Lanny Smith, Jerry Everett, and John Lester.  Crown Bearer was Dale Smith, Scepter Bearer was Shelly Smith, Flower Girls and Trainer Bearers were Vicki Armbruster, Kathy Cole, Linda Crowder, and Irene Goss.  This year was Washington State’s centennial year so on March 15 the men in the community quit shaving for the beard-growing contest that was to happen at this year’s festival.  Any man showing a bare face during the six weeks prior to the festival was expected to contribute penalty money.  Once again, the parade began at 10 a.m. followed by the Chicken Noodle Dinner.  The afternoon coronation was held at the “New” gym there was a band review, the annual baseball game later in the afternoon.  The festival ended with the evening program and the Grand March and two dances one at the Community Hall and the other at the Grange Hall.

The theme this year was “Children of the Sun”.  Queen JoAnn McLean, Princess Arita Faubion, and Carolyn Kutil, Chelan Princess Patsy Bartram, Lakeside Princess Kathleen Jensen, Chelan Falls Princess Carolyn Nelson presided over this year’s festival.  The Crown Bearer was Dickie Armbruster, Scepter Bearer was LaRita Rae Warehouse and the Junior Court was Jon Hubbard, Warren McCasland, Beckie Griffith, Lucinda Morehead, Janeen Jackson, and Dixie Lester.  The crowns this year were not made of shells and rhinestones as in the past but in keeping with them, they were made in various shades of gold.  The royalty was shown on the television on a Spokane station even though very few homes in Manson had T.V.s.  The day’s activities consisted of the parade, chicken noodle dinner, a band review, the afternoon coronation, an evening program and finally the Grand March and Dance at the Community Hall.

The theme for this year was “Let there be Music”.  Queen Carolyn Shoun, Princesses Jill Robson and Sonja Zamzow, Chelan Princess Hellen Perry, and Lakeside Princess Roberta Little presided over the festival.  Escorts were Don Pitts, Darrell Finley, and Tom Roach.  The Crown Bearer was Gene Burns, Train Bearers were Trudy Keeney and Nan Wise, Flower Girls were Karen Armbruster, Margaret Mabes, Trumpeters were Steve Klapstein and Steve Armbruster and the Court Jester was Bing Debar Jr.  Senior girls were Nola Dial, Ramona Longston, Connie McClellan, Cheryl Armbruster, Bella Rice, Joan Everett, Gracie Metcalf, and Mary Helen Dillingham.  Junior Girls were Patsy Roach, Nancy Finley, Marilyn Finley, Patty Edmunds, Marlene Venneberg, Beth Hart, Donna Stutsman, Judy Morical, Nancy Debar, Barbara Peters, Nancy Minster, and Patricia Garrett.    The royalty was selected by a combination of the student body, balloting and a rating by five out-of-town judges.  The festival day started with the parade followed once again by the chicken noodle dinner, a band review, the afternoon coronation where Queen Carolyn was crowed by Charles E. Cone, Chelan Superintendent of Schools.  The evening program began at 7 p.m. followed by the Grand March and the Queen’s Ball which concluded the day's events.

This year’s theme was “Salute to Youth and Beauty”.  Queen Marilyn Finley, Princesses Patty Edmunds, and Beth Hart presided over the day’s events.  The Royalty escorts were Gary Hubbard, Carl Jones, and Ken Ward.  In the Junior Court were Gene Edmonds, Karen Thrapp, Rod Armbruster, Terri Finley, Kim Peterson, Jeff Waite, Beckie Rogers, and Donnie Debar.  The weather was nice as compared to the Wenatchee parade where it rained and rained and both the float and the royalty were soaked by the end of the parade.  This parade once again started at 10 a.m. followed by the chicken noodle dinner, a band review, an afternoon coronation where Queen Marilyn was crowed by Don Eastvoid.  The festivities ended with an evening program, the Grand March and Queen’s Ball.

This year’s theme was “I Dreamed”.  Queen Melita Johnson, Princesses Donna Russell, and Betty Ashmun, Chelan Princess Barbara Schultz, Chelan Falls Princess Sue Finch presided over the day’s events.  The escorts were Gary Hubbard, Gene Autry, and Don Smith.   The Crown Bearer was Gerrie Halsey, Scepter Bearer was Candance Debar. The Page Boys were Jeff Sargo, John Bennett, Danny Baker, Greg Howell, Joe Koenig, Billy Ott. In the Junior Court were Lori Shaw, Debbie Stevens, Bobbie Lou Debar, Debbie Zervel, Mary Jo Goss, Denise Ward, and Janie Kamphaus.  The night of selection there was a heavy snowfall.   The royalty visited Spokane TV stations KHQ and KXLY.  Once again, the parade began the festivities at 10 a.m. followed by the chicken noodle dinner at the Community Hall and a Band Review at the football field.  The afternoon activities ended with the Coronation at 2:30 p.m. where Queen Melita was crowned by Keith Jackson of KOMO TV.  The day’s events ended with the evening dinner, the evening program at the Guy Campbell Gym and the Grand March and Queen’s Ball.

The theme for this year’s festival was “Song in My Heart”.  Queen Judy England, Princesses Barbara Morical and Joyce Bell, Chelan Princess Jane Bagwell, Chelan Falls Princess Nancy Crockett presided over this year’s festival.  The escort was Doug Peterson.  The Crown Bearer was Mary Helen England and the Scepter Bearer was Janet England.  In the Junior Court were Margaret Burns, Debbie Horton, Karen Zerbel, Kerry Stevens, Kerry Klapstein, Molly Keys, Luella Ramey, Terry Zamzow, Mary Sorenson, and Julie Jackson.  Once again, the parade began the festivities at 10 a.m. followed by the chicken noodle dinner at the Community Hall.  The afternoon activities ended with the Coronation at 1 p.m. where Queen Judy was crowned by Lloyd Andrews, State Superintendent of Schools.  The day’s events ended with the evening dinner at the Community Hall, the evening program at the Guy Campbell Gym and the Grand March and Queen’s Ball.

This year’s theme was “Sweethearts on Parade”.  Queen Jill Fry, Princesses Joan Kamphaus and Sandra Debar, Chelan Princess Betty Hall, Chelan Falls Princess Nancy Hersey presided over this year’s festival.  The escorts were John Ward, Duane Moore, and Dibs Smith.  The Crown Bearer was Christy Morehead, the Scepter Bearer was Cindy Finley and the Trumpeters were Brad and Brooke Peterson.  Making up the junior court were Pam Bennett, Roena Barkley, Heidi Griffith, Jeanie Wise, Debbie Kimpel, Teddy Debar, Janie Kamphaus, Kathy Miller and Debbie Griffith.  Making up the Queen’s Courtiers were Mike Millette, Steve Baker, Pat Huffer, Eddie Kamphaus, Ray Barker, Leonard Schmitten, Bobbie Hayhurst, Jerry Courtway, and David Lewman.  Once again, the parade began the festivities at 10 a.m. followed by the chicken noodle dinner at the Community Hall.  The afternoon activities ended with the Coronation at 1 p.m. where Queen Jill was crowned by Colonel John Monroe Hutchinson, 62nd Troop Carrier Commander.  The day’s events ended with the evening dinner at the Community Hall, the evening program at the Guy Campbell Gym and the Grand March and Queen’s Ball.
